Judith Marks-White's award-winning column, "The Light Touch" appears every Wednesday in the Westport News. She has been writing her column for the past twenty-two years. Her articles appear in magazines and newspapers throughout the country and she has contributed fiction articles to numerous children's publications.
Prior to becoming an independent free-lance writer, Ms. Marks-White worked for Time Inc. She served on the staff of Time/Life Books in NY and Doubleday and Company. She has also been involved in the design and instruction of creative writing programs in CT and has taught writing for many years. She is currently an adjunct professor of English at Norwalk Community College where she won The Teacher of the Year award for 2005. She also teaches a course in Humor Writing at NCC.
Judith is the recipient of numerous annual writing awards for her columns.

Judith along with authors Judith Viorst and Colette Dowling was a keynote speaker for "Perspectives: A Woman's Viewpoint" sponsored by the Westport young Woman's league and Redbook Magazine. She has spoken on a variety of topics to other groups and organizations including Y's Women, Y's Men, The Association of Women in metals Industry, The Norwalk Chamber of Commerce, The Weston Women's Club, The Westport Women's Club, The Darien Community Association, Lifetime learners, The Westport, CT Rotary Club, Connections: Wine, Women and Wisdom and Writer's Conferences throughout the area.
Among her other published works include her speech, "The Marketing and Writing of Humor" which appeared in Press Woman Magazine. Her feature articles and humorous essays have appeared in many magazines and anthologies including I Killed June Cleaver, Pandemonium or Life with Kids and the Chicken Soup for the Mother/Daughter Soul and Chicken Soup for the Father and Daughter Soul. Her first novel Seducing Harry was published by Random House/Ballantine in January 07 and her second novel also published by Ballantine Bachelor Degree will be published in July 08.
Judith is a member of National Federation of Press women, National Association of Pen Women, The CT Press Club, The National Association of Press Women and the National Society of Newspaper Columnists.
